I just finished installing a FlashChat module to the chatrooms section last night. I have some tweaking to do yet, and I want to add some sounds and customized background images, but it's ready for testing. If anyone wants to try it out, it's at:

It's very customizeable, both for the admin and users, but we'll see how it holds up to 20 plus people online at the same time. I'll leave the old rooms up and running and switch the next Friday night Builder's Chat to this app, and if everyone likes it I'll disable and uninstall the other chat engine.

I found that some of the issues with the other chat software had to do with HTTP request times bogging down the server, in addition to nagging problems my host has been having with networking problems. I've been migrated to a new server and upgrades have been made. Since then there have been no problems with latency or the chatroom freezing up.
